Update: 20. August 2020
Since the beginning of August 2015, Dr. Hero Schnitzler has been an official member of the charitable organisation “International Society for Dermatology in the Tropics e.V.”
The society was formed on 7 March 1996 in Tuebingen, Germany, and has over 100 members from 11 different countries. The society is centred in Tuebingen and can be found in the German Central Register of Associations (VR1201).
“The International Society for Dermatology in the Tropics e.V.” is an association of doctors, scientists, care professionals and assistants. One of the major statutory aims is to help provide the populations of tropical and subtropical lands with sufficient high-quality dermatological care. This goal will be achieved through cooperation and collaboration of all interested parties, both at home and abroad, the combination of scientific knowledge and practical experience, and by education, training, and the advanced training of doctors and health care professionals in dermatology specifically for tropical countries. Since 1999, the society has been conducting day-long seminars under the title “Symposium for Tropical Dermatological Infections and Travel Medicine”.
The society has been accredited to the German Dermatological Society (DDG), and its working group on tropical dermatology (ADI-Td) since 2010.
