Newest Alexandrite Hair Removal Laser at the derma competence center, Laser Institute in Zurich Enge

Since the beginning of September, the derma competence center in Zurich Enge has had a new, innovative hair removal laser available.

This Alexandrite laser, with its patented applicator, also enables the removal of unwanted hair in hard-to-reach, specific areas of the body.

Unlike the established diode lasers and IPL devices used for laser hair removal, the new Alexandrite laser — like its predecessors — works without direct contact with the skin to be treated.

The laser energy is delivered at a distance through a special applicator tip. This makes it possible to remove hair discreetly and with minimal discomfort even in skin folds, hard-to-reach areas, and intimate zones.

The laser beam is applied via the special applicator, which is additionally cooled. The laser beam reaches the hair root, where the light energy is converted into heat. This leads to permanent damage to the hair follicle, resulting in a lasting reduction in hair growth. The Alexandrite laser’s wavelength of 755 nm is optimal for removing only unwanted hair while preserving the surrounding skin.
