Hero Schnitzler, head dermatologist of the derma competence center in Zurich-Enge (district 2), took part and greatly profited for himself and his patients.\n\n \n\nThis year\u2019s main topics were \u00abDermatological Infections\u00bb and \u00abDermatology and Internal Medicine\u00bb. The structure of the presentation was particularly focused on algorithms for use in diagnosis and therapy for certain skin diseases.\n\n \n\nDiverse skin diseases and latest findings on their occurrence, diagnosis, as well as treatment and prevention were addressed in the presentations, and then afterwards, discussed in depth by fellow colleagues. There were for example, presentations on very common skin infections such as skin and nail fungus, neurodermatitis (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, bacterial infections (acne) and viral infections (warts), but also reports covering more rare but serious conditions, such as lupus erythematosus and lymphoma.\n\n \n\nAdditionally, attention was given to the Trends in Dermatology including, operative removal of melanoma and basal cell carcinomas as well as benign tumors and, aesthetic dermatology (laser, filler, threads, neuromodulators, peelings, PRP (platelet-rich plasma).\n\n \n\nOn Wednesday afternoon the focus was on STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), venereal diseases and diseases such as condyloma (genital warts), syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV and other infections of this nature, their occurrence, prevention and therapy.\n\n \n\nThe aim of the congress is to provide practical guidance for everyday issues and personal experiences of dermatologists, clinically and in practice. Whereby, established dermatologist like, Dr. med Hero Schnitzler in Zurich-Enge, can strongly profit for their day to day encounters.\n\n \n\nThe needs arising from their own clinical work and suggestions from established colleagues led to a colorful array of discussions. The design of the program and selection of speakers was executed in cooperation with the University for Dermatology Bern and Basel and with the dermatology clinics Aarau, Bellinzona, Lucerne and Triemli Zurich.\n\n \n\nThe scope of the SDD\u2019s, furthermore, both in terms of content and time as well as atmosphere, offers good prerequisites to maintain associate contact between individual dermatologists and cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry.\n\n \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
