At the derma competence center in Zurich, the picolaser offers the possibility of using all common and different wavelengths and pulse durations for treatment – including the shortest pulse durations currently used in medicine, in the picosecond range (trillionths of a second).

This makes it possible to select the optimal parameters for the target structure. The ultra-short pulses, known as picosecond pulses, allow for the efficient and gentle removal of difficult, resistant, and multi-colored tattoos as well as pigmented spots.

The mechanism of action of the picolaser is based on an additional photoacoustic/photomechanical effect in addition to the photothermal effect. Pigment particles can be broken down into even smaller fragments and eliminated by the body’s own immune cells.

In some cases, fewer and gentler sessions are required compared to conventional lasers.
